As advised in the Roman treatises on agriculture, the villa was located in the center of the farm and on a small hill, in order to be able to easily control all the crops. The house, besides being the place where the inhabitants lived, served as a warehouse to store tools, a barn to store the crops, a stable for the animals and, most importantly, a large part of it was dedicated to winemaking.
