Entrance to La Olmeda Roman Villa and Museum

  • The Roman Villa La Olmeda, is a large rural mansion of the Lower Empire (IV century A.D.), whose main building or pars urbana, has a square plan flanked by towers at each corner and is arranged around a central courtyard and peristyle to which the various rooms open.
  • This palatial villa covers an area of 4400 m2 with a total of 35 rooms divided between the main dwelling and the bathrooms, 26 of which are decorated with 1450 m2 of polychrome mosaics preserved in situ. The complex was declared an Asset of Cultural Interest on April 3, 1996.

    The Museum of the Roman Villa La Olmeda is located in the Church of San Pedro de Saldaña, which was ceded by the Bishopric of Palencia to the Provincial Council for this purpose.


  • Every day of the year except Mondays – including holidays and the following days: December 24, 25 and 31 / January 1 and 6.

  • Tuesday to Sunday, from 10:30 am to 6:30 pm. Access is not allowed 15 minutes before closing time. Mondays closed. January 1 and 6; December 24, 25 and 31.
