The Cooperation Network of Villas Romanas of Hispania presents The Greatest Empirea participatory, creative and deeply familiar campaign that invites to rediscover the legacy of the Roman world from an intergenerational perspective.
For 40 days, from August 5 to September 14, families from all over Spain are called to become narrators of the past through a digital challenge in TikTok.
The proposal is simple and powerful: choose one of the eight Roman villas in the network, record a video of maximum 1:30 minutes about its history or uniqueness, and upload it to TikTok with the hashtag #MiVillaRomana. The only condition: that at least two generations participate together, thus encouraging the transmission of knowledge and creativity shared between grandparents, parents, children, nieces and nephews or grandchildren.
Families from anywhere in the world may participate, as long as they include members of at least two generations (e.g. grandparents and grandchildren, parents and children) in their video. Since minors are allowed to participate, it will be mandatory that the video is uploaded from a TikTok account managed by an adult who is the legal guardian of the minors involved.
Choose a Roman villa from among those that make up the Villas Romanas de Hispania Network.
Create a video with a maximum duration of 1:30 minutes, in which they explain, represent or interpret the historical, cultural or emotional value of the village.
Upload the video to TikTok, using the official hashtag #MiVillaRomana and tagging the official profile of the Association, if any.
The videos can have a narrative, scenic, documentary, humorous or experimental approach, as long as they respect the informative and cultural nature of the contest.
The video with the most “likes” and comments will be selected, as long as it meets the following criteria by a jury appointed by the Association of Villas Romanas de Hispania:
